“My mom said she and dad were face down in the fields and that there were hundreds of rockets shooting over their heads,” Liniado told CTV. Liniado’s father reportedly later called an ambulance because he had been shot.

Judith and Gad are still missing.

Liniado said she does not know if her parents survived the attack, but so far Israeli authorities have not found their bodies. The couple may be among the 199 people Israeli officials say Hamas took as hostages to Gaza.

A post on X, formerly known as Twitter, from the Consulate General of Israel in Toronto, said that Weinstein and her husband had been kidnapped to Gaza by Hamas terrorists.

Judith, a retired English teacher from Toronto, had been living in Israel since 1995. Her husband was not Canadian.
